MALAWI : Places to visit
LAND OF SUNSHINE
Come see our Lake Malawi.
South from Lake Malawi, a journey of about three hours by road,
one comes to BLANTYRE , the commercial
center, a busy thriving city, and focal point for tours into the
nearby areas. Blantyre is sorrounded by MICHIRU, the rain
mountain; NDIRANDE, the sleeping man mountain; the beautiful
SOCHE and MPINGWE hills. Further south,
MULANJE mountain raises its lofty peaks,
appearing to rise sheer from the sorrounding plains, and is the haunt
of mountain climbers, hikers, trout anglers and nature lovers. North
of Blantyre, another mountain, ZOMBA vies with Mulanje mountain
in its attractions. At its foot netsles the Zomba town, the former
capital of Malawi, with its aura of colonial days. A road
winds right up to the plateau where a prime situation is occupied by
KU CHAWE INN, delight as a base for fishing
expeditions, hiking or gently driving from one dramatic viewsite to the next.
